slacktivism

The act of participating in obviously pointless activities as an expedient alternative to actually expending effort to fix a problem.

slacktivism

One of those feel-good internet campaigns that doesn't actually help anybody or has political impact. It's your way of pretending to care while sitting on your butt in front of a computer playing WoW.

Also used for people who want to get a million people on their page by before bettering themselves or the world instead of just doing it.
Girl: Let's show our support by changing our Facebook statuses to promote what color our bras are!

Boy: Why does your status say "nothing"?

Girl: I'm supporting breast cancer awareness via Facebook!

slacktivism

The search for the ultimate feel-good that derives from having come to society's rescue without having had to actually gets one's hands dirty or open one's wallet.
It's slacktivism that prompts us to want a join a boycott of designated gas companies or eschew buying gasoline on a particular day rather than reduce our personal consumption of fossil fuels by driving less.

aggressive slacktivism

To append a statement to a slacktivist copy pasta in the format of "X% of people won't copy and paste this status message. I'm part of the 100-X% THAT WILL. ARE YOU?". This statement is an effort to guilt other Facebook users into doing as little to address the problem as you are.
Joey outed himself as a fan of aggressive slacktivism when he posted, "I know that 97% of you won't post this as your status, but my friends will be the 3% that do. In honor of someone who died, or is fighting cancer, or even had cancer, post this for at least one hour." as his Facebook status message.

Snacktivism

Activism done with food. As feeding the homeless, or supporting ongoing activism with food.
Occupy Together events, lasting several weeks or months, are a perfect opportunity to practice snacktivism.
