Scared Straight

1. Experiences of a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) person "scared" into acting "straight" = scared straight, for a good lot of their life for fear of harassment, bullying, persecution & bullying.

2. A prison documentary about juvenile delinquents that are brought into prison for a whole day & get yelled at by convicts who know first hand what hard life is like in prison with the hopes of derailing their destructive path towards the prison industrial machine.
1. I was afraid of being harassed by those bullies that I was scared straight into hoping they will ignore me.

2. Go see Scared Straight.

Scared Straight

Intimidated so much by the straights that you prentend to be to be one of them to blend in. I.e., lesbianoge, being a secret gaygent, etc.
Abby: Wait, why is Bailey pretending she doesn't have a girlfriend in front of her relatives.
Darcy: Even the best of us get scared straight by our homophobic relatives.

beyond scared straight

A reality show where defiant teens are forced to spend a day (and sometimes a night) in jail, interacting with convicted felons who give them first-hand experience of life behind bars with the hope that they see where the path of destruction they are headed down could lead them.
It fun to watch Beyond Scared Straight and see troublesome and stupid brats get a much-needed attitude adjustment by visiting prison and getting verbally abused by inmates and prison staff.
excessive nice speech, the opposite of ragebaiting
