Queerphobia

An umbrella term concerning fear and hatred of things not heterosexual and cisgender (homosexuality, bisexuality, pansexuality, transgenderism, asexuality, genderqueer). General animosity towards anything that does not meet a culture's heteronormative standards.

Hating anyone that isn't straight and cisgendered is an example of queerphobia.

Queerphobic

A specific type of homophobia that results when one has aversion, fear, or general dislike of atypical gay, bi, or lesbian sexuality and identity.

Tonight I heard these Castro gays on the 24 bus spouting off queerphobic comments about some guy they knew who was dating a transgender man. What a bunch of self absorbed bigots.

A gay fear of being crowned Queen only to lose your Princess parking and seating at a window booth in restaurants.

Honey sugar as I pulled into Marie Callender’s at Thanksgiving, a chill of Queenophobia ran up and down my spine looking for a parking spot hoping they don’t seat me next to the restroom.
