An "Emo" Band. Not emo music but Gerard Way (lead singer) says they dress emo. But not in the conception of what emo is today. They dress emo like how it was defined back when they were children. Away of style and music not sadness and depression. If you do not like My Chemical Romance then state you reasons in a civilized manor instead of cursing like a 5 year old bay bay kid. State the reasons but hear others opinions too. Yet liking a band for the way they look is distasteful that's way the cookie crumbles. No one says you have to like MCR. I for one think they are a good band. If you can get up on the stage and and sing making people feel better about their lives then do it. For you to complain how much "emo-ist" the are could be taken as "all the kids should kill themselves" And hopefully you don't mean that. But listening to all kinds of music can make you happy. From MCR to Lil'Wayne to even Carrie Underwood. But before you go making cross judgments on this band I say you should look at the good things they have done. And listen to their music. Thanks :

MCR are amazing. They started off in 2001 when Their lead man Gerard Way was suffering from severe depression. The band members say that to begin with the music was their therapy, then it grew to be other peoples there pay and eventually Gerard said that it was becoming to be for suicide prevention. People say that they encourage self harm but this is fucking bullshit. At almost every one of their shows, they talk about not self harming, not committing suicide and talking to someone if you or anyone you know are depressed. MCR saved my life and I expect many other people's lives. The band split in 2013 when Gerard said that "it was no ones fault" it was just time for them to end. When they split, they said they wanted to be remembered as a band who made an impacts on people's lives, and they sure as hell did. THANK YOU MY CHEMICAL ROMANCW

A band from New Jersey, usually bashed for being popular among "emo" kids. Their guitar work gets repetitive and boring, but the lyrics aren't so bad. They're a terrific band live actually. Most refer to them as MCR.

A very influential Post-Hardcore band from the shores of New Jersey. Often classified as Emo/Punk/Goth, the band themselves have never put a label on themselves, and for this, should be noted. While the main audience for the band seems to be teens, it is impossible to cast stereotypes onto the listeners, as the band themselves are an extremely varied bunch of guys. Releasing their first album in 2002, their second in 2004 and their DVD in 2006, the band have come a long way in only four short years.
They also put on one hell of a live performance.

To date (Nov, '07), they have three full-lengths out. I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love (Commonly abbreviated to Bullets); Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge (Abb. Revenge); and The Black Parade (Abb. TBP).
This band doesn't deserve half the shit they cop. People judge them over their mainstream songs - these songs are not their best, and the band as a whole should not be judged on them. No band should.
This band has a way of saving lives. Something about their lyrics, their passion, their emotion and what their frontman has been through has the ability to save people.
