Lanngent 

to depart from the original direction of conversation at a sharp angle without any apparent reason or warning and return to topic with no explanation or apology.
The instructor was teaching us how to conduct activities safely when he went on a Lanngent and started talking about a boss he used to have. No tie in whatsoever and after back to the original topic like nothing happened.
