To exaggerate with (mostly false) experiences to seem more dominant in a group mostly illustrated by males.

Person 1: 'I tripped over and cut my knee on the way to college!'
Person 2: 'Oh dear, you must be more careful!'
Person 3: 'Yeah, well I got hit by two buses on the way to college, and I'm fine...'
Person 1, 2: 'Stop Khartering, it is getting annoying!'

2) upper crust British catering, usually inedible.

1) Lemarette is the new shift manager! I thought I was good at katering but that fluffer must be masterful.

2) Two Earls died of explosive diarrhoea in the Royal enclosure at Ascot last week.
