He was convicted of fraud crimes related to stock market manipulation and running a boiler room as part of a penny stock scam, for which he spent 22 months in prison. He is best known to the greater population for his book, "The Wolf of Wall Street". And the recent movie based on the book about his like which his portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio.
