Grrfle

The sound a dog (or other animal) makes when they’re grumbling about life and everything, not fully barking or growling, but a low attempt at both at the same time, like an old man grumbling out loud to himself about life. They’re not in fear, protective or attacking, just grrfeling because they’re getting a bath, getting groomed or have to go into their kennel.

Buddy wanted to go for a walk, but we had to go out so we put him into his kennel, and even though he went in, he grrfle’d about it.

Kajun needed a bath but he wasn’t happy about it, he let out a low grrfle.
