Ghoonies

A neighborhood that is somewhat on the outskirts of a larger city, of poor working class citizens and characteristically struggling with crime. The term is a portmanteau of "ghetto" and "boonies"

Man, you don't wanna be in the ghoonies. Not only will they mug you, you'll be stuck out there with no ride back.
