Eleceleration 

The act of pressing an elevator button repeatedly in the vain attempt to hurry its arrival at your floor. Can be used in either the UP or DOWN mode.

While watching a fellow pressing the down button multiple times with increasing force and speed, I offered, “I see you’re employing a bit of eleceleration to move it along faster. Good idea that.”

The mistaken idea that pressing the button faster and more times makes the lift come down (or up) quicker.

Engaging in an act of elecelleration, the thug began to press the button several times over in his antic disposition and his fright that the fuzz were almost inside the door.

When you're in an elavator and you try to speed it up by madly pushing one of the floor buttontabs or the arrows...you know.

The act of repeatedly pressing the up or down button on an elevator in order to hasten its arrival

You have a severe case of ele-exceleration - that's not gonna make the elevator come any sooner
