Bunny-hopping is a movement technique in first-person games which can make it possible to move faster than the default maximal sprinting speed by timing the jumps with the exact moment the game character makes contact with the ground while alternating the direction of mid-air strafes. This can also make the player a harder target to hit in shooter games. Bunny-hopping only works if it is possible to strafe mid-air and the movement velocity is not capped at sprinting velocity.

The scout bunnyhopped his ass around badlands. Grabbed that flag. And bunnyhopped is ass back to cap that shizzle.

Tactic often used by FPS players to avoid being shot for two reasons:
1) It is the closest thing to a dodge that older FPSes have.
2) Games, such as Half Life, have crappy ass hitboxes which USED to make you nearly impossible to damage.
A tactic often whined about (see example).
