Backstep

To go back on one's word or actions. To break a promise or change one's mind, usually with little or no prior notice. To renege.
I called to confirm with Cheryl if we were still on for our lunch date, but she decided to backstep on me after I made the reservations.

Backsterbation

The act of rubbing your back against the edge of a wall to relieve tension and pain. It's a well known fact that violating your home's jagged edges relieves stress, improves posture, and alleviates depression. Studies have also shown that regular backsterbation increases sexual pleasure and rekindles lackluster relationships. Common side effects include missing socks and blindness.
Daniel: Hey, bro. Could you give me a massage?

Noah: Nah, b. I'm in the middle of an intense game of Starcraft 2.

Daniel: Aw, man. I guess I'll just have to resort to backsterbation again.

backster

1. A person who has a crush on someone but does not show interest, but desperately wants to do so. This usually is the case for the typical nice guy. The word probably derives from the guy who's always in the back who shows interest in a girl but never reveals himself to show interest in her.
1. That guy was totally a backster, I heard from a friend of his friend. He had a major crush on you, he probably didn't want to let you know because you were treating him as a friend.

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
