17's 

A common "game" where if someone stands up, they say "17's", which saves their seat for 17 minutes. Often compared to "fives", which stole the idea from 17s, but it saves the seat for only 5 minutes. If someone steals the seat before 17 minutes are up, he is subject to beatings until he leaves the seat.

Person 1: Hey, I'm going to go buy some milk, 17's.

Person 2: (after P1 leaves, before 17 minutes) Haha I'm gonna steal his seat.

Person 3: Person 1 is gonna beat the crap out of you if you don't leave.

A line that originated from a YouTube video depicting a rap battle between Kris Dreemurr and Scott Pilgrim, in which after Scott's verse, Kris says "she's seventeen Scott", referring to Knives, a 17 years old girl Scott liked when he was 23.

Schrödinger's 17

When an attractive person’s age is unknown but probably 17 or 18, they can be referred to as Schrödinger's 17. This means they’re assumed to be simultaneously underage and of age, and that for the sake of safety one should round down and not flirt with them just to be safe.

Schrödinger's 17 is particularly a problem for seniors in high school and freshman in college because that is the confusing turning point where teens go from being an underaged minor to being a legal adult.

"17 second country" or "17 second society" is a term that originates from well cut, short video clips that only portray one side of an incident in an attempt to influence. It can be used to describe the hectic, click-based modern media domain that values twisted forms of political correctness in the form of individual "justice seekers" while condemning ordinary things as questionable.

"I don't want to live in this 17 second country, did you hear they found out this dude's workplace and got him fired because they didn't like his stupid Twitter joke?"

"X is such a 17 second country, all their major political headlines are just viral clips from campaign rallies, protests or whatever"
