old people's self-reward

A slang term for extra (hours of recreational) screen time that seniors can easily have as a form of self-reward; whilst children, teenagers, and younger adults are subject to more stringent behavior requirements to obtain the same duration of extra screen time due to the presence of third-party authority (parents, teachers, institutions, and employers)
It's wild how my grandparents can rack up hours of screen time as some kind of old people's self-reward, while I have to jump through hoops just to watch an extra episode!

self-reward

When retired seniors are "entitled" a) to have 6 hours of recreational screen time per day (e.g. to binge-watch T.V.), b) to Google for (or to watch) contents deemed inappropriate for the rest of the family — just because they have once worked hard for several decades in a row.
My grandpa calls it his 'self-reward' when he binge-watches six hours of his favorite shows, saying he’s earned it after decades of hard work!

It's not rewards

You're not doing everyone except me you stupid piece of shit. I'm not going to let you pretend you're doing something good by doing this. Tell them they are being stupid. Make a ruling that aligns with MY right because their rights aren't involved here.
