four bits for a buck

an uneven exchange or transaction, two bits = 25 cents, four bits = 50 cents, six bits = 75 cents, 8 bits = one dollar. These expressions were used early in the 20th Century to talk about low valued things. Such as "He's got a two bit job."
He came out four bits for a buck on the deal.

higher-order bit

The salient point of a document, conversation, etc., that accurately summarizes it. Originated in Computer Science circles, from binary numbers, where the highest-order bit is worth more, numerically, than the rest of the bits put together.
Sue: I can't believe what an awful time I had with Rob! First we had to wait, like, FIVE minutes for a table, even though we had a reservation! Then we were sitting next to these people who were like so strange looking. Then I told him all my problems and he just got bored.
Jim: I think the higher-order bit here is that you're a bitch.

A little bit "C.H."

Like a pun, which is a play on words, "A Little Bit 'C.H.' " is a play on letters... If you were to spell 'bit' as B.I.T. and then add C.H. at the end of it, you get "B.I.T.C.H." This is a sly, somewhat silly way to call someone a little bitch. You can even explain it by doing that... "You know, a little bit 'c.h.'? ...A little "B.i.t.-- c.h.?"
Well, aren't you a little bit "C.H." today!
