A neo-hippie is a person who embraces, and correspondingly, continues the 1960s counterculture movement which was primarily based in the United States. There are notable variations between a Neo-Hippie and a more traditional Hippie, particularly in values and beliefs, but are mostly the same. The photographer Steve Schapiro documented multiple Neo-Hippie communities between 2012-2014.

Referring to “neo concept” when discussing the K-pop group NCT (most often used to describe the subunit NCT 127)’s specific style of music. Neo in this context is used to describe the unique, niche, and unconventional sound and concepts used by NCT. This is a mix of electronic, trap, hip hop, rap, rock, pop, and more in order to create the group’s signature bold, futuristic, boisterous, and experimental sound. They are often deemed as the only K-pop group to be able to work within this sound and style and are highly credited with true artistry in order to pull off such a unusual, eccentric, and distinctive sound.

Wow, Sticker is NCT 127’s most neo concept yet! I can’t imagine any other group being able to pull this song off!
