What somebody types on IM, MySpace, Facebook or Bebo which means "What you said was sorta funny, but I really can't be bothered laughing, and you can't tell that I'm not."

An “lol” is used (supposedly) when someone is litterallly laughing out loud at someone’s text , post, or video on the internet.Though nowadays, it is used as a space holder or sarcasm to show chillnessBut you can never really tell the intent of the mysterious “lol”.
Example:
Rachel-
Knock knock
Stephanie-
Who’s there lol
Rachel-
*seriously doubts she’s actually laughing*
*is right*

by medead February 11, 2019

A three letter acronym with a shady past. I knew a couple who thought it meant 'lots of love'... and they wrote LOL in a funeral letter!
Funeral Letter: 'Sorry your dad died. LOL, Jake and Sally.
Guy 1: Dude, he wrote LOL in a funeral letter!
Guy 2: Must have thought it mean lots of love.
