The Angel Effect

The angel effect manifest itself in particular social situations, mostly during a discussion or an argument in which multiple people are involved. Imagine you're having a heated discussion with a person (they're insulting you or something) and a friend steps in to defend your side. You, instead of thanking your friend, start to insult him back for no apparent reason. This is the angel effect.

Person 1: Yo bro how much cream have you used in this pasta, it's awful.
Friend: Nah, it's nice I enjoyed it
You (referring to the friend): shut up!! You can't even cook.

Futurama effect

The effect caused by an artificial and arbitrarily imposed wait on an action you're waiting for a human to process even though it could and should be completely and totally fucking automated in 2021. The human in question at the end of the waiting period will literally pick up a clipboard or look at some excel sheet and click process on some 90s looking terminal program to make whatever you're waiting for happen and ultimately relieve you of the agony. Named after the Futurama storyline of them unfreezing people after x amount of years have passed from their death.

- Hey Marge, that international wire transfer you were waiting for has finally came through after 20 days, must have been a mess to process for them.
- Nah, I think we're just unknowing victims of the futurama effect.

The phenomenon in which certain men will come to the defense of a woman simply because of her gender, while others renounce them. Often occurs in male-dominated group chats when a female is added. This effect causes discord among all parties involved.

The Splatoon-based group chat "Sprayze" was struck with the Gardner Effect when Amelia joined.

1. Created by shelovesF1 on tiktok and this is when Lando Norris wears a beanies and looks good doing it

2. Created by Simon Lazenby during the 2022 Australian Grand Prix weekend and it is when Lando Norris makes women cry because he is so good looking in real life and because he is their favourite driver
