nigger

Bastardization of Nigeria used to refer to those of African ancestry that were enslaved to enrich the ruling class of the U.S.A. up until the Civil War. Afterwards, primarily used by ignorant white people cracker redneck as term to insult and disparage black people. Term was uttered before each and every lynching. Think before you speak.
In the 20th century slur was taken up by all kinds of whites as they began to fear economic and social competition from blacks for scarce resources (i.e. clean affordable housing and virtuous white women).
Sadly, with the rise of hip-hop music and culture in the late 20th century, uneducated young blacks embraced the term as "real." As also led to the phenomenom of wiggers wigga (i.e. K. Fed, Eminem, Kanye West, etc.)
Can also refer to an lazy, trifling and educated person of any race (i.e. Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, etc.)

Niggerization

Niggerization is neither simply the dishonoring and devaluing of black people nor solely the economic exploitation and political disenfranchisement of them. It is also the wholesale attempt to impede democratization—to turn potential citizens into intimidated, fearful, and helpless subjects.

Since the ugly events of 9/11, we have witnessed the attempt of the Bush administration—with elites in support and populists complacent—to promote the niggerization of the American people.

nigger

A word originated during slavery by white slaveowners to call slaves. Because they heard slaveowners use the word, Blacks took to calling themselves nigger because that is how they heard themselves described. With African language and rituals forbidden, their only frame of reference was the slaveowners' language and rituals.

After slavery, the word began to lose its bad connotations when used among Black people as way to take ownership of the word.

In more recent years, the word shortened to the familiar nigga.

Instead of "Slave, fetch me that pail" it was, "Nigger, fetch me that pail."
