'kawaii' / 'かわいい' (not to be confused with 'kowaii' / 'こわい', an adjective for fear, danger, and perversity.) is an adjective in the japanese language to express usually cuteness but can also mean the following adjectives; adorable, charming, lovely, pretty, dear, precious, darling, pet, cute, little and tiny. kawaii is now commonly used by many english-speaking people as a slang for cute. though, alot of them mispronounce the word as kowaii. there are many prefixes for kawaii, such as erokawaii, sexual yet cute, and gurokawaii, gruesome yet cute. alot of people use it if they're very indulged in japanese culture, such as anhime and manga, those are the main audience that say it.
