When one gets the instant urge to use the toilet during the middle of a shower, without drying off appropriately. Because said person has to towel off immediately, it leaves a "trail" of water from the shower to the toilet.

Get the trail of tearsmug. The trail of tears is a punishment used on misbehaving privates who tend to physically assault their NCOs. In order to carry out this punishment, a platoon must form two parallel lines. The soldier being punished must low crawl between the two lines while the people in line spit on them, forming the trail of tears. Note: if the soldiers face is not on the ground, they must return to the start and try again.
