The older employees at the Fukushima nuclear plant who stayed behind to try to stem the meltdown so that their younger colleagues could escape radiation poisoning.

"I have normal, healthy babies today because my older supervisor at the Fukushima plant insisted I flee while he stayed to lock down the cooling towers. He is their true grandfather, their Fukushima Grandpa."
