The idea that Norman "Nick" rewrites his own history if he ever wants to forget something that happened in the past and doesn't want to talk about it. He will take all the embarrassing and low points of his life and just simply forget about them. Basically, if he doesn't remember it, then it didn't happen. The crazy part is that in his mind, the said event actually didn't happen because he has this crazy ability to just wipe everything out of his mind so he genuinely thinks he's right but in reality everyone else remembers except him. If you try to press him and bring up something that he wiped out, then he will fuck you up and accuse you of projecting.
