To use one’s credit or debit card to purchase in-game currency. A term that is especially common within the context of gacha gaming.

Swiping is considered as a shameful act by many. However, equally as many individuals in the gacha community are casual swipers (see: “Whale”) .

One’s outlook on swiping is generally determined by their own personal financial status and belief system.

“I hit hard pity on Hoshimi Miyabi’s banner and lost the 50/50, I have to swipe.”
