Subtitle syndrome

If you have 'subtitle syndrome' you can't stop reading the subtitles on screen in a show/movie despite being fluent in the spoken language.
It can be pretty annoying and distracting when trying to enjoy a movie.

"I'm sure I could've appreciated the visuals of the movie some more if I didn't have subtitle syndrome"
