Kurunegala

A city in Sri Lanka famous for being surrounded by big-ass rocks. Most famous being the Elephant rock which the city is named after.

A little less known fact is that a sizeable chunk of the country's military are always people from Kurunegala and surrounding areas. This is denoted by a number of monuments dedicated to K.I.A soldiers scattered thought the city.

Pros: Folks in Kurunegala will be the friendliest you'll ever meet in a Sri Lankan city.

Con #1: The rocks in Kurunegala get so hot during the dry months that you'll feel like jumping off of one.
Con #2: Comical amount of power cuts happen in Kurunegala despite being one of the most developed cities in Sri Lanka.
