Anime is not the same as cartoons, for they have two different meanings. a cartoon is either childish stuff (my little pony, paw patrol, etc.) or it could be things you shouldn't be allowed to watch until you are 16 (the Simpsons, aqua teen hunger force, squid billies). Anime varies from childish to deep meaning full plots to hentai (anime porn). Anime is also 95% of the time centered in japan an is usually not made in English and you have to find it dubbed, however there are some exceptions like my hero academia, etc.

Gods gift and curse. A form of media made from Japan, most of which stems from manga(which in itself is a storytelling form of media). This form of entertainment comes in many styles and many types. Action, romance, slice of life, or straight up animated porn that is somehow still considered safe for kids. Some people consider anime to be a form of “visual autism” to be consumed by audiences abroad to weaken there minds so that Japan may one day take over as the new great empire of the world...and while they might be right, it’s still good shit
