Best Friends

They are the type of people that will always have your back, fight for you. You will get ad at them, but you can't stand not talk to them. They are the best people you will meet in your whole life if you don't have Best friend there is the right one for you. Apartment friend

A friend that may travel a lot or has a busy lifestyle and tends not to stay in contact much, but when you do talk or meet it's as if they never left.
This can be positive or negative.

Significant Friend

An amalgamation of "Best Friend" and "Significant Other", usually referring to someone of the opposite sex. Essentially someone who you have no romantic connection to but still love (as a friend) anyhow - a step above "Best Friend" which is used too interchangeably with "Friend".

You know, you're not just a friend Alyssa, I'd call you a significant friend :-)
