A “Friend” is someone who you can open up to, someone who talks to you frequently and hangs out with you. A Friend is someone who texts you to check on you to see if you’re doing good. If you know someone who isn’t like any of these then they’re considered an acquaintance, not a friend.
Personally I don’t have any friends. I consider them acquaintances. They never text me, want to hang out, and never check up on me.

Friend is a popular term for spring loaded camming devices. Friends are used for fall protection while climbing a rock face. They are used as anchor points in cracks and crevices as appropriate and attached to the climbers rope . The term is derived from the Wild Country SLCD of the same name.
