It means to skip school for the sake of not sleeping, but making it a bigger issue than it is, as most people just go on with their day after experiencing the exact same issues.

Person 1: “Hey have you seen Joe today?”
Person 2: “Nah man, he’s pulling a Tyler”
Person 1: “God again? We all can’t sleep but come in anyways”
