Whilst the bands that attend aren't nearly as big internationally as those that play at Oxegen, EP has carved a niche in showcasing diverse artists whilst still getting big band names.

Is seen by some as a ''rite of initiation'' into 3rd level education in Ireland whilst Oxegen holds the title for being the festival to attend after national exams ie Leaving Certificate.

Either ways 3 days with your friends, listening to music & camping in the back arse of nowhere can only bring good memories

Electric Picnic was set up in 2004 as a one day festival & has now become a 3day festival with previous years getting bands like
Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Seasick Steve, Elbow, Sigur Ros, Modest Mouse, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Imelda May, Klaxons, Mumford & Sons
