Grunge is a form of alternative rock music from Washington that mixes elements of punk rock, heavy metal and 1970s hard rock. This style of music is most often played at a midtempo and usually features sludgy guitar distortion, raspy vocals and angsty lyrics. Grunge was pioneered in the 1980s and popularized in the early 1990s with the success of Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and Nirvana.

Get the Grungemug. A fusion genre of punk rock, alternative rock, and heavy metal produced by members of the Seattle underground rock scene from 1985 to around 1994. Grunge musicians could be identified from their preference for extremely comfortable clothing (often flannel shirts and jeans), a tendency to be kinda smelly, anti-capitalist and feminist lyrical themes, and disregard for societal norms. Stereotypically addicted to heroin or some other heavy drug. Grunge musicians did not identify the genre of music they played, it was really more of a marketing term

Get the Grungemug. An alternative aesthetic for those people who like to dress normally but want a title. It will consist of bland colors like brown, white and black. People using this aesthetic will think they're so quirky and different but aren't.
