A place on the interwebs where people get to talk about how shitty Civics are and race other people based on who can name more mods for their car than the other person.
Car forum discussion example: Civics are pieces of shit, and my Mustang can beat yours because I have a pulley and a tune on it.

A word used to define the most popular male user on a forum. The term is not only used by female users but also by all the other inferior beta males on the site who have to show respect to their one true king. First popularized was the word by the infamous user Manoko on the allkpop forums.
Someone: "Who is the forum oppa here?"
Exotic: "It’s Manoko oppa~ uwu! The hart, sole and ASS of allkpop.com/forums. They say the poppin of his dimples is what caused the big bang and his smile is what provides the warmth and sunshine to sustain all life on Earth."

Forum Fucks;Obnoxious moderators on meaningless websites who like to throw their weight around, and constantly edit, correct, delete posts,or discipline users of the website, for breaking dumb, meaningless and non descript rules. Some of them also invade your privacy by reading your private messages from other forum users.
The forum fucks must be at it again cuz my post, which they mostly deleted, makes no sense now,and I got a "fraction" by my username!

An enthusiast forum about shipping related affairs, mainly focused on great lakes operations.
Unfortunately it is also run by shadowy mods, who do not operate with any transparency. They don't explain their actions. Posts and topics vanish for nothing. Criticism is dismissed without further regard. Nepotism apparently runs rampant as certain people (ie their chums) are given a free pass to be rude assholes to others, while any attempt by others to engage with those individuals just disappears. It's not even clear who the mods are, or how many of them exist.
Then there's the userbase. Which isn't as horrible as some forums. But there is a minority present, who make the forums an unfriendly environment. They can be mean spirited, rude and condescending to others - especially people new to the hobby - who they have also been seen to openly loathe. Worst of all, instead of politely correcting and offering their unique insights, they will instead assassinate any posts they don't deem worthy, by getting the complicit mods to delete them, even though there was no reason they should've been deleted at all. The worst of these people, seem to be people from the industry, or who were in the industry and now have nothing better to do with their lives.
All in all. Things are unlikely to change here. Save yourself the aggravation and just go to one of the Facebook groups instead.

Bob joined the Boatnerd Forums, only to be viciously and condescendingly attacked for his enthusiasm.
Jeff made a speculative post in the Boatnerd Forums only to have his post mysteriously deleted for no reason.

From the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a veteran is an old soldier of long service. A forum veteran (often just called a veteran or a vet; plural veterans or vets) is simply a member of an online community that has stuck around in that community for a long time and is usually quite knowledgeable regarding the community's members, history, etc.
Furthermore, forum veterans are often characterized as having fairly large post counts and being highly respected and/or well-known within their community (the latter depending on the size of said community).
Also, in some communities they are referred to as old-timers (especially after they refer to past events being "back in the day," etc)...
