A social-distance way to safely express a hug, by holding your arms straight out at your sides, like a Cabbage Patch Kid doll, while standing 6 feet apart. During the coronavirus pandemic quarantines of 2019-2020, people were told, "wash your hands," "wear a mask, and "social distance" to avoid transmitting or getting the Rona.
"I'm so glad to see you, Aunt Sara! Gimme a big hug.
"No, baby, we can't do that. (Spreads her arms wide) Cabbage Patch hug, at a distance! When this damn COVID-19 thing is over, I'll hug you 10 times to make up for it."
