A word used to describe a text message, IM, etc. that is not ended with punctuation or a smilie face, thus leaving the recipient wondering if they've done something wrong.

Bob: HAHAHA THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!!
Joe: ha
Bob: Are you okay? You know it's impossible to tell when you leave the message openended like that...
