Hepcatify

Hepcatify is a term used in the jazz scene in the 1950s to describe the act of becoming hip, cool, and sophisticated like a hepcat. To hepcatify oneself meant to embrace the latest trends, dress in stylish clothes, and develop a keen sense of music and art. It was a way of life for many young people who wanted to rebel against mainstream culture and express their individuality.

Back in the day, I used to hang out with a group of hepcats who would hepactify anyone who came into their circle.

I've been listening to a lot of jazz lately, and I really want to hepcatify my music taste. I'm going to start collecting vinyl records and attending more live shows to get into the scene.

I'm tired of blending in with the crowd. I'm going to hepcatify my fashion game and start wearing more vintage pieces and bold colors. I want to stand out and show off my unique style.

A state of mental exhaustion caused by just thinking about work, responsibilities, or tasks—before actually doing anything. You feel completely drained, as if you’ve worked all day, even though you haven’t started yet.

I had so much to do today, but just planning it all out made me feel hepical, so I took a nap instead.
Every Monday morning, I wake up feeling hepical before I even start working.
Sarah hasn’t lifted a finger yet, but she’s already hepical just thinking about all the emails she has to answer.
