In first-person and third-person shooters, redcoating (or "red coating") is the act of standing still during firefights, making yourself an easy target. Often a mistake made by newer players who usually put more emphasis on their aim rather than their movement
"That Octane was redcoating with a shotgun, didn't think it took that much focus to fire one of those"
