Despite the common mistake that a pentagram is a five-pointed star with a circle around it, such is not the case. A pentagram is literally a plain, five-pointed star. No circle.

A five pointed star without a circle around it. Sometimes seem as inverted with the baphomet head it represents satanism. However, there is nothing negative about it.
Nice pentagram.

Not to be confused with Satanism OR Christianity symbols. It means something totally difference.
Each point has its own meaning
It means the five senses, five mosaics, five points, most primitive to man kind. It's also the middle age's Goblin's cross. It means Solomon's seal and witch's foot as well.

Person 1: OMGZ D00D LOOK AT THE PENTAGRAM! FUCKING SATANISTS ARE HERE!!
Person 2: You're a fucking moron. It doesn't relate to that shit at all.

A 5 sided star that appears upsidedown. Not to be confused with the wiccan "Penticle" which is a right side up 5 sided star and holds totally different significance. Primarily used in the Satanic or Sumarian religions as a representation of anit-Humanity (while the penticle represents humanity therefore it is right-side-up) or the god baphomet

This used to be a sign for the Roman Godess of love, Venus. NOT a Satanic symbol, because the Pentagram was simply stolen and flipped upside down.
Not to be confused with Arthur Pendragon.

Look at Matthew K. Heafy the lead singer of Trivium. He sometimes wears an shirt with a Pentagram on the back. Like at the 2005 Download festival.

A 5 sided star that when appears upsidedown is the symbol for Satanists, and usually contains the head of a goat, as the goat is the most common symbol associated with Satan.
A pentagram, also known as a pentacle, is used in many different religions, including christianity, satanism, and wiccanism.
Most people automatically associate the pentagram with some sort of evil, or satan worshipers, but in the middle ages it was used at a symbol for warding off evil spirits, contrary to public ideas, it was actually used for the exact opposite of what most people think it's for.
