Mets

To Mets, verb: To fail in a ridiculous or spectacular manner, particularly in relation to sports or a sporting event.

Metsing: Failing in a spectacular or ridiculous manner. "He's going to walk in the winning run! This pitcher is really Metsing!"
Metsed: Failed in a spectacular or ridiculous manner: "Can you believe they gave up two TDs in the last minute? That team really Metsed!"

The Met

A name commonly used in Lancashire to refer to a Metropolitan Hotel Pub. The Metropolitan is a chain, similar to Weatherspoons, except far larger and more impressive.
You'd bring a camera to the met, but not 'spoons. Also, spoons sells terrible but far cheaper alcohol.
A Met' is usually the largest pub in a square mile and will be filled with either toffs or scroungers, never anything above middle class though.

Lanc 1:I'll bob by The met on't way back, y'u com'n wi'?
Lanc 2:Aye Mate. Spoons'd be cheaper 'ough.

Mets

Mets are the enemies that you find in the mega Man series, they are black colored blobs with a mining helmet that are often used to farm items such as 1 ups weapon energy refillers, health items, and much more, they are the only enemy which have multiple variants and are also referenced in multiple mega Man material art, it's also used as a racist slang term by some folk to make fun of blacks.

Person 1: dude what are these yellow things ln my screen
Person 2: those are called mets there a common enemy
Person 1: why can't I hit it?
Person 2: you'll have to get closer to him
Person 1: wait you didn't tell me he had eyes..
