A better word for being tortured for many long miserable years and forced eat gross, probably poisonous food because your parents dont love you enough to pack you a lunch.

Teachers often tell students they need to know this stuff for the real world but in reality we all can just use google instead of dedicating years of our life to stuff that doesn’t matter at school.
