Short for disapproving stan, the ultimate reversal of a stan, a Dan is obsessed with taking someone down, instead of being obsessed in their approval of somebody. A Dan may act very extreme in their dissaproval, or be a simple hater, there are many types of Dans. A Dan is typically more dangerous than a stan, because they hate somebody instead of being a fan of theirs. A Dan is on a whole other level when it comes to being insane, a stan typically would not do anything to harm a person they like, which makes sense, a Dan will actually go out of their way to harass an individual, because of their disliking of them.
