Fonzie Effect

When hitting or tapping on an electronic device of some kind suddenly solves what ever it was that was preventing it from working properly, or changing the song on the jukebox to Elvis Presley's Hound Dog.
Fonzie would at times demonstrate an almost magical ability to manipulate technology with just a nudge, bump or a snap of his fingers (The Fonzie Effect) for things such as starting a car, turning on lights, coaxing free sodas from a vending machine, making girls respond, or changing the song selection on a jukebox - occasionally pounding one with his fist and eliciting the response of a classic 1950s tune, such as the Elvis Presley song Hound Dog.

Ferguson Effect

The unnecessary delay a Police Officer takes before lawfully taking someone's life. An unnecessary delay that puts an officer in grave danger himself because he is fearful of unjust criticism and scrutiny from the media, critics, citizens, celebrities and politicians, etc. The fear a Police Officer experiences for being wrongly accused of being a racist in a fatal shooting.
That cop almost got wasted because of the Ferguson Effect waiting too long to shoot Jimmy Jones fearing he would be called a racist.

The Smite Effect

In any moba game, when playing a character for free or on rotation you seemingly do great getting as many kills as possible. When you buy the character using your own money or the in game currency you seem to go terrible. There is no other explanation for this sudden bad play but the smite effect.
''Man Teemo was on rotation when I played him I went 40 and 0. Dude I bought him and suddenly went 1 and 11. Yeah bro the smite effect at its finest.''

Garagebo effect

The perception that the performance of a vehicle has improved as the result of maintenance work at a garage that likely made no impact on the vehicle's actual functioning.

Most commonly experienced by people who have just paid for a questionable procedure a mechanic insisted was important and really want to believe that: a) the procedure was actually done; and b) it significantly helped the vehicle's performance.
Jon: Dude, that $1000 for a changing out my cabin filter and flushing my transmission was SO worth it! My Hyundai has never been this powerful...I could totally take a BMW off the line right now!!

Cameron: Really? Come on man, this is a classic case of the Garagebo effect! They probably waved a wrench over your crappy car and then gave it back to you and now you think you are Vin Diesel in Fast Five!
