The type of Roblox games that have obtainable cosmetic auras typically encourage competition between players by displaying and ranking a user avatar's strength through a medium such as power levels. Due to the popularity and nature of video game cosmetics, auras are typically difficult to obtain so you have to farm for an aura to obtain one. Hence, the likely origination of "aura farming."
