Pseudo-shit

A pseudo shit is when a person really feels like they really need to take a dump only to sit on a bowl and read an entire edition of reader's digest. The person will then realize that it was a false call and will leave the bathroom confused. He or she will sometimes flush the toilet to avoid any questions from friends.

I woke up this morning and I thought my bowels had to be released but it was a pseudo-shit.

1) a reaction to a really shocking and important story.
2) a way to say "that sucks, i'm sorry" after someone has told you something truly shitteous that happened to them recently.
3) what a father replies to a son when the son asks what is that in the toilet.

kid: "i smoked soo much weed and then ate a pie out of the garbage..."
kids friend: "SHIT, SON!!!!!"

guy #1: "i've had such an awful day. first, my pet fish died. then my girlfriend broke up with me. and now I found out that I only have 2 days to live.
guy #2: "shit, son."

little boy: "daddy, what is that brown stuff in the toilet?"
father: "shit, son."

A metaphor used for when you're committed to a situation but are unsure how it is going to turn out. When you are "shitting in the dark" you have to complete the task whether you know what your doing or not. It may turn out to be messy or it may be a success.
