I love Reading. One of the reasons is because it reminds me of books and when I dream about that place, I see books on trees and wear books. LOL. Anyways, the other reason why is because I like how it snows a lot but it is not that cold out (like Canada or Alaska).

A state of affairs present in today's society of white supremacy, gender binary misunderstandings, extremism in faith and state, and the willing sheepishness that a general public is desperate to cling to.

Usually harsh realities are continuously cloaked by human nature's tendency to maintain a status quo and not ask too many questions, which can make the reality illusive.

Systemic oppression is one of the harsh realities that many humans willingly refuse to accept.

When someone is listening to their ipod/ mp3 it tends to take them a while to snap back to reality

Mark: "Jeff!"
(Jeff is jamming out and so continues oblivious)
Mark- shakes shoulder, jeff turns and removes earphones
Mark: "Jeff you prick i'm trying to talk to you"
Jeff: "Chill chill" (takes deep breaths with far off look on his face
Cmiste: "Give the man his Ipod Reality Cooldown Mark"
Cmiste- turns to Viewer
Cmiste: "boom"

frat boy realism

The kind of faux realism applied to fantastical material so that average viewer will believe it; the point at which the idea of realism simply translates to compromising fantasy in typically fantastical material, adding lots of black, blood, sex, or making it "dark," because that means it's serious grown up business; realism that results in drunk, college idiots proclaiming "that's so badass!" and marveling how deep they must be to "get" the goings on.

A great example of frat boy realism: "So the new Spider-man will be gritty and dark this time and not fruity and lame like the other ones?"

I'm starting to feel like one day I'll be feeling something similar about Christopher Nolan's "Batman" movies... loving them as films but HATING the impact they're having on genre film, i.e. making this kind of frat boy realism the order of the day.
