The last shadow puppets

well, in 2008 it was a nice little band between miles kane and alex turner. in 2016, it was an excuse for two men to cheat on their girlfriends in front of thousands of people (they make really good music too though).
2008 (yes, the year itself is speaking): The last shadow puppets is a great band between two best friends, I dont know what you are talking about!
2016: They did some drunken kareoke and then commited various homoerotic acts. Alex turner even got a boner after shoving Miles' leg between his thighs!

Shadow monkey

A shadow monkey is someone who watches your every move, copies everything you do, but stays in the the shadows. They don’t talk to you, simply and try to be you.
Tallula: “Ugh did you see what Eloise posted, she is so copying my outfit!”

Sam: “Omg eww what a shadow monkey. She doesn’t even make an effort to talk to us.”

political shadow

1. A government employee whose job is not viewed to be particularly important by most of the people who don’t work for the government that run into them, but their role plays an important function in keeping the government running efficiently and effectively. Usually, their employer or the individual/s who run the department or agency, because of their position in the government, work in the public spotlight, while political shadows tend to work more in the background, or in other words in the shadows, where they are seldom noticed by the general public. Often times these people either work in jobs where they don't deal with people that often, or they work in jobs where they deal with people frequently, but their role is frequently viewed as being less important than the role held by their employer.
2. The political impact an individual or group has on the world around them
1. Dave is a political shadow. He is a policy analysist who works for the U.S. Representative Aderholt. Most of the people who encounter him don't think his role is anywhere near as important as the role his employer has in the U.S. Government; yet without Dave, the policies would not be written that well and may not be as effective in achieving what the law was intended to do. Hence, he plays a very important role in ensuring the government operates in an effective manner.
2: Alexandra has a large political shadow because of the large number of Black Lives Matter protests and women's marches she has attended over the past four to five years; along with the numerous times she has lobbied political officials on various issues related to gender equality, gun control, racial justice, education, and the Covid-19. She has a very large political impact on the world around her.

Shadow Rogue

A person that is extremely edgy and plays League of Legends. Has an unholy obsession with the in-game currency "Riot Points" and spends too much time playing the game.
Person 1 : Yo! I finally reached Gold 2 after 11 hours of gameplay straight!
Person 2 : Congrats, but don't turn into a Shadow Rogue over it.

Shadow Daddy

A popular trope for male love interests within the romance-fantasy (romantasy) book genre. It is a common phrase found on BookTok.

A Shadow Daddy often has the following characteristics: 1) tall, dark, and handsome, 2) a tortured and traumatic past, 3) a “tough guy” exterior that terrifies most people (with the exception of the female interest usually), and 4) the ability to wield some type of shadow/darkness/night magical power.

A “Shadow Daddy” often begins a story as a misunderstood character that initially comes off as cocky or intense, and the female love interest usually dislikes him at first. But eventually the Shadow Daddy’s true personality ends up shining through — honorable, selfless, kind, protective, a willingness to be seen as a villain for the greater good, and LOYAL to a fault — and through this he eventually wins over the female love interest. Bonus points if he ends up worshipping the ground the female love interest walks on.

He’s almost always dominant in the bedroom, but never so dominant that he disregards the female main character’s agency. Extra bonus points if he uses his shadow powers in the bedroom as bondage, or he loses control over his shadow powers when he climaxes.

Some popular examples of characters that embody the “Shadow Daddy” trope:

Rhysand from A Court of Thorns and Roses
Azriel from A Court of Thorns and Roses
Dorian Havilliard from Throne of Glass
Xaden Riorson from Fourth Wing
Nyktos from Flesh and Fire
My favorite Shadow Daddy is Rhysand from ACOTAR. Instead of hiding the darkness that exists inside of him, Rhys weilds it as a weapon for the greater good. He’s also handsome, devoted to Feyre, and good in bed. He’s my Shadow Daddy.
