White Whining Woman. In hospitals, particularly Emergency Rooms, “WWW” is code for hospital staff to alert each other of a White Whining Woman. These are women who are white and feel entitled to immediate service. The woman can be quite nasty and demanding, often complaining of their treatment in the hospital. The woman says they are in pain or have unusual symptoms, yet they appear normal, healthy and have test results which are also normal. In many cases, these women may have fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome.

In worst cases, they yell, may ask for a supervisor or another doctor if they don’t agree with the doctor’s diagnosis.

Doctor, there is a WWW in exam room two. She yelled at me then threw her urine sample at me.
