When two soldiers march in a hugging pose while one soldier plays percussion music on the buttocks of the other. When no instruments were available during marches in civil war times, this was used as an alternative to keep soldiers in step.
The highest honer a union soldier could receive was to be assigned the Cincinnati Ass Slap during long marches.
