I was overcome with feelings of umpathy because of all the abuse heaped on the umpires at the game last night.

Fake empathy expressed by those types who float on a waft of thier own smug flatulence.

I feel sorry for the hungry of Africa, they ... hold on, I've got a comment on Face Book.
That's a bad case of unpathy.
