The term was coined by Eddie E./Ed Vicious in Los Angeles, California.

Eddie: Man, I am so H.O.M.O.
Nick: Wtf dude?
Eddie: Handsome Over Many Others!
Nick: Oh okay I guess I'm H.O.M.O. also.
